Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in a statement yesterday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Laolu Akande, condemned the two separate suicide bomb attacks in Adamawa State as tragic and condemnable.
According to him, the government is shocked and outraged by the suicide attacks on a Mosque and a Market in Mubi which left at least 27 people dead on May 1.
The Vice President further condoled with the victims of the attacks and their families, as well as the Government and people of Adamawa State.
He noted that he has been in touch with the state governor, Bindow Jibrilla, and has also directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to ensure the speedy and adequate provision of medical supplies and relief materials to the victims.
Professor Osinbajo, however, assured the people that security agencies have been directed to immediately take steps to beef up security in Mubi and environs, especially markets and places of worship.
He said efforts were already ongoing by the agencies to apprehend the perpetrators of the act with a view to bringing them to justice.
Osinbajo conveyed the gratitude of the Federal Government to the rescue workers, medical personnel, and others who attended to the victims after the unfortunate incident.
