Chairman of the Congress Committee set up by National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to supervise and monitor the ward and local government, Alhaji Musa Halilu-Ahmed, had at a press conference addressed at the Oyo APC Secretariat in Ibadan has  declared that the local government congresses in the state were successful.

As members of  the committee refused to entertain questions from journalists on the parallel local government congresses held in the state on Sunday.

Halilu-Ahmed revealed that the results of the congresses, from across the three Senatorial Districts of the state,  have been coming in since Monday.

As a result of the face – off between Governor Abiola Ajimobi of the state and some aggrieved leaders of the political party in the state,  members of the APC Unity Forum had held parallel congresses across the state.

But members of the congress committee at the yesterday’s press conference did not make reference to such development.

Halilu-Ahmed commended party members, security agents and Governor Ajimobi for the peaceful conduct of the local government congresses.

He, however, informed that in accordance with the rules of APC, members of appeal committee from Abuja had arrived in the state to entertain complaints from aggrieved members.

After addressing the press for about ten minutes, members of the committee rose and took their leave, despite the fact that some journalists in attendance raised up their hands to signify their intention to ask questions from the committee members.

APC’s Secretary in Oyo state, Mojeed Olaoya, thereafter told the anxious journalists that members of the committee would not entertain any question.
