GOTV Set For Hood To Hood Season 2; Calls For Entry


gotvDigital terrestrial pay-TV, GOtv has announced the call for entry from interested football teams and clubs for the Season 2 of the GOtv Hood to Hood Football Championship.

The GOtv Hood to Hood Football Championship is a grassroot football development initiative which was instituted in 2013 with the aim of engaging the youth positively and redirecting their energy towards sports, and to further entrench the brand with its core target market.

The application forms for participation in the Season 2 of the championship will begin from Thursday, 2 October and close on Friday, 9 October 2014.

GOtv general manager, Elizabeth Amkpa enjoined interested teams to obtain registration forms at the Lagos office of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), inside the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. She added that the 16 teams that will be participating in the championship will be unveiled at a press conference on 10 October 2014.

She concluded by saying that the Season 2 of the GOtv Hood to Hood Football Championship promises to be bigger and better than the first edition, creating more excitement for both the participating teams and the spectators.

It would be recalled that the first edition of the GOtv Hood to Hood Football Championship was won by Success FC, Epe who defeated Rainbow FC, Igando 5-4 on penalty at the finals played at the Agege Stadium to cart home the gold medals trophy and cash prize of N300, 000.00.

The 16 teams that participated in the Season 1 of the competition were; Satech FC, Mushin, Olope FC, Badagry, United Stars FC, Ketu, All Stars FC, Oworo, TREM FC, Gbagada, Success FC Epe, Coded FC Ikorodu, Junior FC, Ikotun, Omisco, Alagbado, NAMO FC, Alagbado, Junior Milan FC Egbeda, Juventus FC Idimu, Bekon FC   Agege, Pro Star FC, Ikotun, Rainbow FC, Igando and Victory FC, Agege.
