The gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) Adebayo Adelabu, has expressed optimism that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will conduct a very credible poll in today’s governorship election in the state.
He pointed out the electoral body has been able to learned from its mistake in the last Presidential and National Assembly elections, maintaining that the ad hoc staffs deployed for today’s election showed “expertise in their skills”.
He stated this shortly after he casted his vote at the polling unit 10, Ward 009 in Oke Odo area of Ibadan South East Local Government of Oyo State.
Adelabu also expressed satisfactions at the turn out of the electorates in the areas noting that the people of the state have really come out to decide.
According to him, “I am happy to come out and cast my vote today as everything goes on peacefully and smoothly.
“As you can see, the turn out is very massive and also impressive, and there is no act of thuggery here too.
I can also tell you that the process is plain, free and fair. And i so much believed that we are going to have a credible election at the end.
“INEC has learnt from the mistakes of the last presidential and national assembly election as it shows that its personnel appears to have been better trained now.
“I have confidence in INEC that the results which will emerge from this election would be a credible results and it will be acceptable” he said.
