John Utaka set to Launch Foundation

Nigerian super eagle striker John Utaka is set to launch a foundation in the UK. Born in Enugu State, Nigeria on January 8, 1982. His Igbo name, Chukwudi, means “There is God”. John Utaka plays as a winger as well as a striker and was included into the Nigeria national football team in 2002.

John Utaka was a part of the 2002 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup squad and he started four of Nigeria’s six games in the 2006 African Cup of Nations, where they finished 3rd. He has also represented his Nigeria in 2004 and 2008 at the Africa Cup of Nations. He has made 34 appearances and scored 5 times for the national team as of 2008.

Utaka he’s launching the foundation in a way of giving back to society and for his passion of making life better for the less privilege in the society.

He said this while feeding questions from the first Nigerian Sports Station BRILLA FMthis morning.

He said I don’t want everybody to know until everything is in place.

The foundation is set to be launched on the 6th of May, 2012.

The foundation will be launched in the UK and also find its way to other African countries he added.

He said there would also be a fund raising to support the foundation.
