Fifty-five years after he designed the Nigeria flag, Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi has finally been honoured by the Federal Government. The government also conferred a national award on Pa Akinkunmi, the Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) award and placed him (Pa Akinkunmi) on a life time salary.
President Goodluck Jonathan while giving an express approval for the placement of Pa Akinkunmi on a lifetime salary said his salary should be the equivalent of a Senior Special Adviser to the president.
