Oyo 2019: Ajimobi Meets APC Gubernatorial Aspirants

In build up to the primaries to elect candidates for the various posts in the coming general elections importantly the exalted seat of the governor, Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Monday met behind the closed door with over 20 hopefuls on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. 

The pally was reliably learnt to be conveyed by the governor at Government House to allay fears of anointing any of the aspirants ahead of the shadow elections of the party. 

It was also confirmed that Governor admonished his aspiring successors to continue mobilizing and sensitizing people at the grassroots of intents and continuity of the ruling APC in bettering the lots of all sundry in the state. 

Meanwhile, the conspicuous absence of former governor, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala amongst other aspirants heightened suspicion in many apprehensive political watchers that Ogbomosho born politician is not favourable to the leadership styles of Governor Ajimobi. 

Alao-Akala is being recently suspected to have been lobbying his associates in opposition parties to join forces with other pundits to dislodge the ruling APC. 

It would be recalled that Otunba Alao-Akala at the 90th birthday party of Olubadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji restated his resolve to the newsmen to contest the next gubernatorial although without specifying a platform in which he is to actualize his reelection bid.

The strategic meeting had in attendance Alh. Olalekan Alli, Mr. Soji Eniade, Chief Bayo Adelabu, Engr. Olusankanmi Tegbe, Alh. Kehinde Oloasebikan, Bar. Niyi Akintola, Mr. Sola Ayandele and others.
