Stay Away From ‘Do-Or-Die’ Politics, Sultan Warns Jonathan, Buhari

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ ad Abubakar, has warned all those seeking political offices including President Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari not to take the forthcoming elections as do-or-die affair.

The Sultan noted that winners of polls had been pre-destined by God.

“While they struggle for electoral success, they should also consider the well-being of the country after elections,” the Sultan made this known when the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Johnson Olawumi, paid him a pre-election advocacy visit at his palace in Sokoto.

The leader of the Muslim community in Nigeria and also the President, Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) called on security agencies to protect corps members and other personnel that will be involved in the conduct of the general elections.
