Tourism Commissioner Visits African Art Foundation

Lagos State Ag. Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Adebimpe Akinsola has recently visited the African Artist Foundation, Ikoyi to explore ways of partnership to train youths in the art of photography and cinematography.

During the visit, which was at the instance of the Director and Founder of the Foundation, Mr. Azu Nwagbogu, the Ag. Commissioner was conducted round the facilities of the organisation which has over 10,000 collections of artworks assembled since 2007.

After inspecting the facilities, Mrs. Akinsola promised to identify the areas of possible collaboration with the Foundation, noting that ‘Art is Life and is a Spirit only those that are artistically inclined can interpret and appreciate works of art’.

She said the Ministry will continue to propagate youth-friendly programs that will enhance the talents of children and adolesents in the State.
